Faculty of Transnational Education

The Faculty of Transnational Education (Faculty of TNE)  serves as a cornerstone in the university’s internationalization efforts, and is dedicated to fostering high-level international talents through strategic global partnerships and offering diverse educational pathways.

The Faculty of TNE specializes in managing articulation and dual-degree programs with top universities globally, emphasizing the significance of international educational cooperation. It offers flexible study modes for students, such as 2+2 and 3+1 options for undergraduate articulation and dual degrees. Additionally, it provides integrated pathways like 3+1, 3.5+1, and 3.5+1.5 for combined undergraduate and master’s programs in sought-after fields including management, information technology, education, and liberal arts. The faculty is actively establishing partnerships with prestigious institutions in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, the USA, Malaysia, and China, leading numerous transnational education initiatives.

The Faculty of TNE attracts esteemed academics and industry experts worldwide, enhancing the educational experience with a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application. Leveraging Shinawatra University’s exceptional faculty, advanced educational facilities, and extensive international networks, the Faculty of TNE is committed to cultivating outstanding global multidisciplinary talents. This commitment is evident in our meticulous management, rigorous quality control, and adoption of small-class teaching methodologies, all conducted in English with additional bilingual support to accommodate students from various linguistic backgrounds.

Furthermore, the Faculty of TNE offers a comprehensive range of services designed to support students academically and professionally. These include English for Academic Purposes, preparation for English proficiency tests, academic support, mutual credit recognition with leading universities, guidance on master’s degree applications, and career counseling, ensuring a well-rounded and supportive educational journey for every student.

 

Professor William Brustein

Honorary Overseas Dean

Faculty of TNE is proud to announce the appointment of Professor William Brustein as the honorary Overseas Dean. Professor Brustein is a distinguished scholar and a leading expert in international strategy in higher education. His remarkable career includes roles as Vice President for Global Strategies and International Affairs at West Virginia University and Vice Provost for Global Strategies and International Affairs at The Ohio State University, where he also presided over the Ohio State University Global Gateways. Additionally, Professor Brustein has held senior positions at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the University of Pittsburgh, further highlighting his extensive expertise and leadership in the field.

“It is an esteemed honor to serve as the inaugural Overseas Dean of the Faculty of TNE at SIU Throughout my professional career I have held to the belief that it is essential that our institutions of higher education graduate globally competent students, that is, students possessing a combination of critical thinking skills, technical expertise, and global awareness allowing them “not only to contribute to knowledge, but also to comprehend, analyze, and evaluate its meaning in the context of an increasingly globalized world.” For our students, global competence is an indispensable qualification of global citizenship, that is, the ability to work cooperatively in seeking and implementing solutions to challenges of global significance, e.g., economic, technological, political, and environmental. The Faculty of TNE at SIU is committed to achieving this goal for each and every enrolled student.

Professor William I. Brustein

Faculty of TNE is delighted to welcome Professor William I. Brustein as its honorary Overseas Dean. A globally acclaimed academic and expert in international higher education strategy, Professor Brustein has held significant roles, including Vice President for Global Strategies and International Affairs at West Virginia University, and Vice Provost for the same at The Ohio State University, where he also led the Ohio State University Global Gateways. His previous tenures include senior positions at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the University of Pittsburgh. Professor Brustein’s influence extends across academia into professional organizations, serving as President of the Association of International Education Administrators. Additionally, his research on political extremism and prejudice has earned him prestigious awards, underscoring his contributions as a prolific author.

Dr. SUN Jin (James)

Dr. Sun, a seasoned leader in international education, brings over two decades of experience to his role. His expertise lies in fostering strategic education partnerships and recruitment efforts, particularly in Australia, East and South East Asia. With a track record of transforming operations into premier institutions, Dr. Sun’s leadership drives innovation and tangible results. His diverse academic and professional background underscores his proficiency in advancing global education initiatives, while his advocacy for student rights and community service reflects his commitment to positive societal impact.

Thao Tran

Thao boasts nearly two decades of experience in the field of education, specializing in fostering connections with high-quality training programs across the globe. With a distinguished track record in key roles within international education organizations, she harbors a profound passion for higher education. Her overarching goal is to ensure that every student is afforded the opportunity to access top-tier global education.
