The Society of Pakistan English Language Teachers (SPELT) is a registered, non-political, non-government (NGO), voluntary body of English Language teachers from schools, colleges and universities. Formed in 1984, in Karachi, it is dedicated to improving the standard of English teaching and learning in Pakistan. The SPELT International Conference is an annual event for foreign language teachers in universities and secondary schools throughout Pakistan, which has been held for 40 years and is one of the most influential international conferences in Pakistan. Each year, the conference will be held in several venues in prestigious universities and high schools in major cities of Pakistan, which is also one of the features of the international seminar series.
The SPELT International Symposium was held in Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city, and was attended by more than 200 scholars from 14 countries around the world
