Luk Choup, Gelatin dipped fruit or vegetable shaped mung beans. Luk chup or also spelled look choop, is a type of Thai dessert derived from marzipan, a recipe from Portugal, called massapão. The importer was Madame Doña Maria Guimar de Pina and originally reserved for the royal court dessert of Thailand. The Portuguese used almonds as the main ingredient but, given the absence of almonds in Thailand, they were replaced by mung beans.
Papaya salad has a bold appearance and outstanding colors, most people prefer to add fermented fish sauce. It’s called papaya salad with crab and fermented fish, which have a pungent and mellow taste. It is a very popular food and there are many other forms of papaya salad that are available to eat in Thailand.
